Below you will find answers to many common questions about #GIVINGTUESDAY - DECEMBER 3, 2024.
What is #GivingTuesday?
#GivingTuesday is a global movement unleashing the power of people's and organizations' generosity to transform their communities and the world. This year, for Giving Tuesday, we are asking our community to support the Saint Francis Fund. Participation will be the key to our success. The Saint Francis Fund enriches our community through spiritual formation, innovation, and transformative leadership opportunities to instill in our students the values for a life filled with meaning and a dedication to service.
Why should I participate in #GivingTuesday?
Philanthropy is a critical part of the success of our Saint Francis Fund. This primary fund supports every student program, activity, and opportunity on campus, so it shapes our students' experiences. Giving back is one of the most incredible gifts we can give to our current and future Lancers. Whether you can give $5 or $500, you are part of the Lancer family, and your gift makes a difference.

Is my gift eligible to be matched by my employer?
Taking steps to double the impact of your donation is a simple process. Once you have made your GIFT, please visit our matching gift portal, then enter and select your company or your spouse's company. Last year, we received $232,000 in matching gifts for the Saint Francis Fund. Thanks for your contributions and match. Let's exceed that amount this year!
Can I create a recurring gift?
You can make a recurring gift by completing the donation form and clicking the recurring button below the donate bar. Please note that payments from November 1st through December 3rd will count on #GivingTuesday; the first installment(s) will be eligible for challenge match funds.
What are challenges?
During #GivingTuesday, a range of challenges will create opportunities to leverage your support for our students and educators. Challenges may include a dollar-for-dollar match or reaching a donor participation goal that will unlock additional funding. If you would like to create your own challenge, please contact Anna Quinones at annaquinones@sfhs.com.
How does a donor or gift count towards a challenge gift?
A donor is counted as each individual email address linked to a transaction. A gift is counted as an individual transaction made to a specific area.
What is the President's Circle?
The President's Circle is Saint Francis High School's donor recognition society for donors that give $2,500+ during a fiscal year (July 1 - June 30). Lifetime Giving Societies recognize cumulative giving milestones. Donors at the President's Circle level or who have reached a Lifetime Giving Society milestone are invited to the annual President's Celebration. We invite you to make your gift to support our students and educators and become a member of the President's Circle today.
What is the difference between hiding my name on the Donor Wall and making my donation anonymously?
Hiding your name and/or the amount you gave on the donor wall only changes the way your gift is acknowledged on this campaign's page. Your donation may still be acknowledged through Saint Francis annual publications and other methods of recognizing SFHS donors.
What if I am experiencing an error on the donation page?
Please delete symbols such as # and & (for example, Anna & Ernie or #234). We have found that this "fixes" most of the processing problems. If your gift form still is not working, please email us at annaquinones@sfhs.com or call 408.234.0225.
Is my gift tax-deductible?
Saint Francis High School is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation. Your gift qualifies for tax deduction in accordance with IRS regulations during the calendar year that you make your gift. Consult your tax professional for more information. Please keep your emailed donation receipt as your official record. You shall receive it upon the successful completion of your donation.
